Dannheisser <br />City Anomey <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Commission authorize, by resolution, the selection of <br />James A. Cummings, Inc. as general contractor at risk for construction of the Government <br />Complex. <br />REASONS <br />On August 19, 1999, a selection committee composed of staff from the Florida <br />Department of Management Services and Sunny Isles Beach interviewed nine (9) <br />prospective construction companies. The selection committee ranked the following as the <br />top three candidates. <br />1 James A. Cummings, Inc. <br />2. Centex -Rooney Construction Company <br />3. Metric Constructors <br />The top three companies were invited to make presentations before the City Commission. <br />However, the companies ranked two and three declined.
