<br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT was originally made and entered into on the 8th day of January, 1998 and <br />revised on March 11, 1999 and revised again on December 21, 2000, by and between the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach, a Florida municipal corporation ("CITY") and Ronald L. Book, Esq., <br />("BOOK"), an attorney and member ofthe Florida Bar, doing business a Ronald L. Book, P.A. <br /> <br />THE PARTIES HERETO DO COVENANT AND AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose of this Agreement is to provide for the City to retain the professional services of <br />BOOK for coordination of the City's legislative relations and for lobbying requirements, as <br />described in paragraph II herein below. <br /> <br />II. SERVICES <br /> <br />BOOK shall provide all necessary legislative relations and lobbying services in any jurisdiction <br />to the City of Sunny Isles Beach, including advising the City Attorney of any new legislation that <br />may affect the City. Such services shall include work for the purposes of securing funds and <br />grants for various purposes from State, Federal and other sources, promoting intergovernmental <br />cooperation in achieving the CITY's objective, securing funds and grants for parks and <br />recreation purposes, crime prevention, economic development, tourism, beautification, traffic <br />and streetscape improvement, beach renourishment and other purposes. BOOK shall regularly <br />report the status of his efforts to the City Manager and/or City Attorney. <br /> <br />III. COMPENSATION <br /> <br />For all professional services provided by BOOK hereunder as described in paragraph II, the <br />CITY shall pay BOOK annual compensation of Twenty Thousand and No/lOO ($20,000.00) <br />Dollars for calendar year 1998, at an annual rate of Twenty-Five Thousand and NoI100 <br />($25,000.00) Dollars for January, February and March, 1999, at the annual rate of Forty <br />Thousand and NollOO ($40,000.00) Dollars for April 1999 though December 1999, and at the <br />annual rate of Fifty Thousand and NoI100 ($50,000.00) through September 30, 2002, at an <br />annual rate of Fifty-Five Thousand and NoI100 ($55,000.00) for October 1, 2002 through <br />September 30, 2003. <br /> <br />Book, Ron L. - Lobbyist Contract <br />LMD/ch - Attorney 3/General <br />1/19/01 -- 11:48 AM <br />
