BID NO. 01-08-01 No proposals will be received later than 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31,2001. 4.2 Scope of Services. The City of Sunny Isles Beach is requesting proposals for the cleaning of Two-Hundred Twenty-Six (226) storm drains/catch basins and the jetting of Two-Thousand (2,000) linear feet of drain line. Once the job is started, the work will be continuous until completion. Any reason for delays will be forwarded to the City in writing. 4.3 Additional Products and Services. All debris retrieved from storm drains will be transported away from the City and deposited in a dumpsite authorized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to accept and store contaminants in a manner which will not allow further leakage into the ground water. Additionally, upon completion of the contract all facilities will be as found. Grates will be properly replaced. There will not be any debris of any kind left behind. Asphalt and/or sod will remain intact and not be disturbed. 4.4 Cancellation of Invitations for Bids. An invitation for proposals, or other solicitation may be cancelled, or any or all bids may be rejected in whole, or in part, as may be specified in the solicitation is within the City's sole discretion. The reasons therefore shall be made part of the contract file. Notice of cancellation shall be sent to all businesses solicited. The City shall give any respondee the opportunity to compete on any re-solicitation or any future procurement of similar items. 4.5 Correction or Withdrawal of Bids; Cancellation of Awards. In general, bids shall be unconditionally accepted without alteration or correction, except as authorized by City Ordinance. However, correction or withdrawal of inadvertently erroneous bids before or after bid opening, or cancellation of awards or contracts based on such bid mistakes, may be permitted, where appropriate. Mistakes discovered before bid opening may be modified, or the bid may be withdrawn by written or telegraphic notice received in the office designated in the invitation for bids prior to time set for bid opening. After bid opening, no changes in bid prices or other provisions of bids, prejudicial to the interest of the City, or fair competition, shall be permitted.
