<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-$k <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. <br />2001-383; RENAMING THE COMMUNITY TRAFFIC SAFETY TEAM <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE COMMUNITY TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />TEAM AND AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT ADVISORY COMMITTEE; <br />PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES; PROVIDING <br />FOR ADDITIONAL MEMBERS AND ITS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR <br />APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS, TERMS AND SPECIFIC ADVISORY <br />CAPACITY; PROVIDING FOR REMOVAL AND VACANCIES; <br />PROVIDING FOR POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to encourage greater citizen participation in <br />police and public safety affairs through the development of information, recommendations and <br />general advice to the Commission in various areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 2001-366, the City entered into an Interlocal Agreement with <br />Miami-Dade County regarding the allocation of disabled parking fine monies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement with the County, the City is required <br />to create an advisory council to assist in the allocation of disabled parking fine monies received <br />from the County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes that the creation of a Community Traffic <br />Safety Team and American Disability Act Advisory Committee, with broad-based skills in <br />public information, education and public safety could provide critical support for public safety <br />and disabled programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.2 of the City's Charter grants the Mayor the right to appoint <br />standing committees at his/her discretion at any time: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Amending Resolution No. 2001-383. This Resolution amends Resolution No. <br />2001-383, which was adopted on October 16, 2001. <br /> <br />Section 2. Renaming of Committee and Purpose. The Community Traffic Safety Team <br />Advisory Committee is hereby renamed The Community Traffic Safety Team "CTST" and <br />American Disability Act "ADA" Advisory Committee ("Committee").
