<br />A. Acid-etched graphics and typography: Acid-etched typography and graphic <br />imagery must be at least 1116" deep, with clean, crisp, sharp edges; ragged or soft <br />(polished out) edges will be rejected. Acid baths used for etching should be fresh <br />and used in an environment and temperature that will provide the highest quality <br />etched images. Colortill as indicated on drawings, keeping inks true to the edges <br />of letterfonnslimages. <br /> <br />B. Silk screened images and typography: Provide photo processed screening, <br />arranged to furnish sharp and solid images without edge build-up or bleeding of <br />the coating. Pattern cut screens may be used for non-repeat copy, provided that <br />final image copy is equal to photo screen quality. Provide only weather resistant <br />coating materials, compatible with the intended substrates. <br /> <br />C. Vinyl Die-Cut and Pattem-Cut Graphics: Use pressure sensitive,non-yellowing, <br />non-peeling and weather resistant vinyl adhesive letters or images die cut from <br />Scotchca1 or ScotchLite as manufactured by 3M Company, applied in proper <br />manner with 3M application tape as specified. Use approved fonts and <br />equipment as specified. <br /> <br />2.06 APPLICATION OF SIGN ELElvIENTS <br /> <br />A Preparation: Surfaces to receive the sign elements shall be clean, dry, and <br />otherwise made ready for the application of materials. Accurately measure and <br />layout the required marking configurations as indicated on drawings. <br /> <br />B. Sign Graphics: Provide letters, numerals, symbols and other graphics inarkings, <br />using fmish materials shown. Apply the graphics neatly, uniformly proportioned <br />and spaced, and accurate within the dimensions indicated. Prepare the substrate <br />surfaces and apply finish materials in aceordance with manufacturer's <br />instructions. <br /> <br />PART 3 -EXECUTION <br />3.01 PRE-INSTALLATION <br /> <br />A. Verification of Conditions: Examine the areas to receive the Work and the <br />conditions under which the Work would be performed. CONTRACTOR shall <br />notify CONSULTANT of all conditions detrimental to the proper and timely <br />completion of the Work. <br /> <br />B.
