No, we do not require any specific grade of glass for the multimode or <br />single mode fiber. <br />18. Specifically, how many Category 6 patch cords are required in each color & at <br />what lengths? <br />,. As specified in section 5.4, two (2) patch cables are to be supplied for each <br />work area, one yellow and one gray, each ten (10) feet in length. Based on <br />the location counts in figure 14.2, there are a total of 177 locations in the <br />building. Therefore, 177 yellow lOft. patch cords and 177 gray lOft. <br />patch cords must be supplied for the work areas. In addition, section 5.2 <br />of the RFP specifies yellow and orange patch cords to be provided for <br />each closet where the work area cabling (horizontal cabling) terminates. <br />Vendor must determine the correct length at installation based on vendor's <br />design, as specified in section 5.2, but the quantities will be 177 yellow <br />and 1 77 orange patch cords. <br />19. Do you require front and rear horizontal wire management panels? <br />,. Yes, front and rear panels must be provided. <br />20. For quotation purposes, are we to base the number of outlets according to the <br />counts listed on the Horizontal Riser diagram (14.2) or shall we come up with <br />totals based on triangle counts on each power plan? <br />,. For quotation purposes, base location counts on the Horizontal Riser <br />diagram (14.2) in the RFP document. Ideally, vendors will provide an <br />additional "per location" quote in their bid submission should the City <br />require any additional locations. <br />2 L Do wall phone only locations receive four (4) cables or just one (1)? <br />>- For quotation purposes, base number of locations and cable counts on the <br />riser diagram (14.2) rather than the electrical drawing sheets. <br />22. Who will be responsible for providing and installing the plywood backboards? <br />,. The plywood backboards will be provided and installed by the General <br />Contractor prior to work commencement on the structured cabling system. <br />23. Is it correct to assume that all conduit(s), poke through fittings, and sleeves will <br />be provided by the electrical contractor? <br />,. Yes, all conduit( s), poke through fittings, and sleeves (as shown on <br />architectural drawings [see section 14.20 of the RFP]) will be provided by <br />the General Contractor prior to work commencement on the stJUctured <br />cabling system. <br />24. Can another manufacturer of rack equipment be substituted instead of <br />Chatsworth? <br />,. Yes, equivalent equipment may be substituted. <br />25.
