RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 838 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING A BLUE - RIBBON COMMITTEE TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER; PROVIDING THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE COMMITTEE; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SEARCH FIRM OF COLIN BAENZIGER & ASSOCIATES, IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($19,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", PROVIDED THAT AGREEMENT IS RATIFIED BY THE CITY COMMISSION; PROVIDING THE CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager has tendered his resignation effective October 31, 2005; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has authorized the creation of a Blue-Ribbon Committee for the recommendation of candidates for the position of City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Commission appointed the following Committee Members: . Mayor Edelcup appointed Senator Gwen Margolis as Chairperson; . Vice Mayor Thaler appointed Hans Ottinot, City Attorney; . Commissioner Brezin appointed Gary Brown, City Manager of North Miami Beach; . Commissioner Goodman appointed Bud Scholl; . Commissioner Iglesias appointed Mary Ann Eicke-Shaw; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the search firm of Colin Baenziger & Associates, to search for a City Manager. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Creation of Blue-Ribbon Search Committee. The City Commission hereby authorizes the appointment of a blue - ribbon search committee to recommend candidates for the position of City Manager. Section 2. Aooointment of Committee Members. The City Commission hereby appoints the following individuals to the Committee: Chairperson Senator Gwen Margolis, City Attorney Hans Ottinot, Gary Brown, Bud Scholl, and Mary Ann Eicke-Shaw.
