Vera, Assistant City Manager <br /> DATE: November 17,2005 C <br /> RE: 181“ Drive Active Park Construction Management and Oversight Inspections <br /> Services Agreement with Calvin Giordano and Associates,Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the 18151 Drive <br /> Active Park Construction Management Agreement with Calvin Giordano & Associates, Inc. <br /> ("CGA"). <br /> REASONS <br /> The City being desirous of improving the 181s' Active Park issued RFP No. 05-04-0I for the <br /> construction of the 18151 Drive Active Park. The Request for Proposals has been awarded and a <br /> construction contract has been let. However, the City is now in need of a construction manager for <br /> this project. The Construction Manager will provide contract administration services and inspection <br /> services for the project. This includes meeting with the contractor and regulatory agencies, making <br /> daily inspections,and verifying the construction is within reasonable conformance. <br /> Our Capital Projects Management Consultant, CGA, has agreed to undertake this project. They have <br /> submitted a proposal in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Two Thousand Nine Hundred <br /> Seventy-Eight Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents ($102,978.75) for professional services. CGA will <br /> provide inspection services for the construction of the Active Park and oversee the entire operation. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> CGA was qualified and hired as the City's engineering, planning, and capital projects consulting firm <br /> to assist staff with General Municipal Contract Services.
