John Szerlag, City Manager <br /> <br />Jorge Vera, Assistant City Manager <br />Rick Conner, Director of Pubiic Works Xc, <br /> <br />May 17, 2007 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Contract with FOOT allowing us to maintain the medians on Collins Avenue <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />We recommend authorizing the Mayor to sign the attached contract with the Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FOOT) allowing us to maintain the medians on Collins Avenue. <br />In addition, FOOT will pay us $7,053.12 per year for this maintenance. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />We are offered this opportunity every year by FOOT. The funds they provide are only a drop <br />in the bucket compared to our total costs, but the ability to manage the landscaping and litter <br />control are the real benefits of this agreement. We really cannot loose in this situation, <br />because if we fail to meet our obligation, FOOT simply stops payments and starts maintaining <br />the medians themselves. <br /> <br />We have recommended some minor corrections to the contract (contact information, <br />grammar, spelling, etc.), which we assume will be acceptable to FOOT. <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Date <br />
