The Ordinance was passed on first <br />reading by the County Commission but was deferred by the County's Governmental Operations and Environment <br />Committee to the July 11, 2007 meeting. Adoption of the revisions is extremely important to the District's <br />continued ability to provide the student seats needed as a result of new development; you (Hans) along with staff <br />from the county and numerous other cities, participated in the development of the report upon which the <br />Ordinance revisions are based. As you may recall, the impact fee ordinance hasn't been updated since 1995, not <br />even for inflation. <br /> <br />I can forward to you a summary of the impact fee revisions for distribution to your Commission and/or discussion <br />with both of you and/or individual members of the City Commission at separate briefings, as well as be available <br />to make a presentation to the City Commission at the time the support resolution is considered. School Board <br />Vice-Chair Dr. Martin Karp has also been very supportive of this initiative and has met individually with several <br />members of the County Commission. <br /> <br />Thank you in advance for all your help and support; please let me know if this request can be implemented and if <br />so, when the item would appear on the City Commission's agenda so that we can make plans to attend.
