Bid Item No. 21 "Pavement seam joint at bridge" Please confirm that the specification for
this "seam joint" can be obtained at EE FDOT Index 1200 Sheets 1 thru 3.
Response: For concrete to asphalt joints IIse self-leveling silicone or /tot pour
sealallt per FDOT Flexible Pavemetlt Manual (latest editiotl).

American Engineering

1. My asphalt subcontractor tells me that type FC 12.7 does not exist and perhaps it should
be FC 12.5. In any case, an FC or friction course mix is not normally placed 2 inches
thick. Usually a 1" or 1.25" structure asphalt would be used for the first lift and a .75" or
1" FC (friction course) would be used for the second lift. A 2" of type FC (Friction
course) asphalt is probably not going to give the City the structural integrity or longevity
that they expect. Please confirm the asphalt section required for this road work.
Response: 2" FDOT Superpave Type SPJ2.5 Asphaltic Concrete.

2. If possible, could we have two separate line items to replace bid item #9-Green Areas in
ROW, including fine grade and sod? The green area earthwork is relatively minor and it
will be problematic to detenlline a precise CY quantity in the field. TIlis is one item that
can probably best be handled as a slump sum item. Then the sod should be handled as a
separate line item by the SF for the actual quantity of sod installed in place. Sod in place
is easily measured in the tield and then the City pays only for sod actually installed and
the contractor doesn't have to carry a large contingency for possible sod requirements.
Response: No

3. TIle bid documents require that the contractor pay for permits. Does this include the City
of Sunny Isles Beach fees or will these fees be waived? If they are to be included, can
you include a City penuit fee schedule in the next addendum?
Response: Need to get fee schedulefrom City's website or Building Department.

4. The RTU unit is said to be included in the base bid but there is not specification on what
model or what program to be used for the RTD illlit. A specification is needed.
Response: RTU is part of tile lift statio II package desigllated as a lump sum bid.

RFI Reponses

05-4893
