<br />Development & Comm. Group: <br />a) Can we know the manufacturer of the electrical poles? <br />Response: Pole manufacturer will be Spring City Electrical. <br />Metro Equipment: <br />a) Bid item 10 - What is the expected work to be performed for this item? <br />did not see it under the Measurement & Payment. <br />Response: The profile grade of the roadway is to be adjusted to <br />grades shown on the plans. Bid Item 10 is a lump sum for the <br />excavation, load, haul, placement and if necessary removal of <br />material to accomplish this task. <br />b) Bid item 11 - What is the City's expectation of how this work is going to be <br />performed (installed/placed)? <br />Response: 170 calendar days for final completion, unless the City <br />extends the days by an Addendum. All work must be in accordance <br />with the plans, specifications, and code; however, the Means and <br />Methods of construction remain with the contractor. <br />c) Bid item 13 - Does this bid item cover just the compaction of the sub- <br />base/grade or is the City's expectation to scarify the sub-grade and add <br />suitable material to make it LBR 40? <br />Response: All work must be in accordance with the plans, <br />specifications, and code. Deleterious material, large rocks, wood <br />and other unsuitable material must be removed and disposed of <br />properly. Additional backfill may be measured and paid for under <br />Item 14 at the direction of the Engineer. <br />d) Bid item 14 - What select material does this item cover? Is this material to <br />be used to backfill if we encounter unsuitable material in our trench? Or <br />the sub-base/grade? <br />Response: Yes and Yes at the direction of the engineer. Note that <br />overruns in quantity in excess of 25% for Item 14 will require a <br />Supplemental Agreement to establish an equitable unit price for this <br />work. <br /> <br />IN THE CONTRACT DRAWINGS: <br /> <br />1 .
