Our project team is comprised of qualified <br />professionals who have extensive experience related to <br />pre- and post-disaster recovery operations, solid and <br />hazardous waste planning and recovery operations, and <br />management of disposal operations, This team has <br />successfully overseen the management of over $1 <br />billion in federal reimbursements resulting from <br />disaster recovery operations. The combination of our <br />project team. and extensive debris management <br />experience, will produce successful results for the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach (City). <br /> <br />Project Manager's Technical Competency <br />Our proposed Project Manager, Darius Stankunas. has <br />over fourteen years of experience in solid waste <br />management and currently focuses solely on <br />emergency preparedness and pre- and post-disaster <br />debris management activities. Following Hurricanes <br />Frances and Jeanne, Mr. Stankunas served as Project <br />Manager for the Hillsborough County, FL debris <br />management and consulting project and supervised the <br />development and maintenance of a disaster debris data <br />management system of load tickets and debris <br />contractor invoices for disaster debris collection, <br />reduction, and disposal for three debris contractors. He <br />was also the lead for the Hillsborough County project <br />worksheet and FEMA appeals process. Mr. Stankunas <br />led the development of Hillsborough County's Disaster <br />Debris Management Plan in 2006, which was updated in <br />2007 to meet the requirements of the recently <br />announced FEMA Pilot Program. Mr. Stankunas also <br />assisted the County with debris contractor <br /> <br />M903301 / WHI <br /> <br />procurement, including development of the RFP scope <br />of work and review of proposals prior to selection. He <br />served as deputy project manager for the 2005-2006 <br />Hurricane Katrina Project for Task Force Hope <br />Mississippi and currently serves as project manger for <br />the debris management effort in Erie County, NY <br />following the 2006 snow event. <br /> <br />PROJECT UNDERSTANDING AND <br />ApPROACH <br />Malcolm Pirnie. Inc. is a nationally recognized full- <br />service environmental engineering and consulting firm <br />with more than 50 offices located throughout the <br />United States, including local offices in Fort Lauderdale <br />and Miami, Florida. With a full-time staff of over 1,680 <br />engineers, scientists, and support personnel, the firm <br />provides comprehensive environmental services to <br />public and private clients. including water and <br />wastewater engineering, storm water engineering, solid <br />and hazardous waste management. environmental <br />engineering and permitting, hazard mitigation and <br />security consultant services.
