The overall effect of <br />the Treatments along the Pedestrian Promenade will <br />be to provide a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically <br />pleasing environment that will be a great asset for <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br /> <br />Collins Avenue East: A Walk along the Beach <br />The east side of Collins Avenue will consist of a new <br />5' wide Pedestrian Walkway as well as New Beach <br />Access Entrance Features. Existing plantings on <br />adjacent private property will be integrated into <br />the overall design and will provide a counterpoint <br />to the Date Palms and other colorful plantings <br />located along the Western Promenade. Paving <br />will consist of decorative precast concrete pavers, <br />and Streetscape furnishings will be utilized to <br />provide a unified and consistent theme for both <br />the East and West sides of Collins Avenue, The <br />new Beach Access Entrance Features will utilize <br />Medjool Date Palms as well as colorful shrubs, and <br />native evergreen groundcovers, Additionally, new <br />plaza areas will be provided with paving patterns <br />that help to reinforce a "Beach" inspired sense of <br />place. Finally, Decorative Streetscape furnishings <br />and Overhead Shade Structures will be utilized to <br />provide pedestrian comfort, as well as points of <br />visual interest along the Collins Avenue corridor. <br /> <br />Intersections and Open Space Areas <br />A primary concern for the City of Sunny Beach is <br />the creation of a safe environment that functions <br />for both Pedestrian and Automobile Traffic. New <br />crosswalks, Bus Shelters, and an integrated <br />signage program will be provided in a manner <br />that coordinates with the overall Streetscape <br />Improvement Program. Additionally, the Existing <br />Sunny Isles Identity Signs will be retrofitted to <br />reflect the new City Signage Standards, Finally, <br />new colorful plantings <br />and public artwork will be <br />utilized to increase the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />aesthetic beauty and cultural identity of the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach, <br /> <br />Task 5 - Public Presentation and Participation <br />Once a preliminary report has been prepared, <br />reviewed and approved by the City, the next step in <br />the process is to present the design concepts to the <br />residents and the adjacent property owners. The <br />E&R Team will prepare a Powerpoint presentation <br />and all necessary handout packages for public <br />meetings as needed or requested by the City. All <br />public comments will be recorded and minutes <br />of the meetings prepared. The comments and <br />suggestions will be provided to the City and <br />discussed. Any comments that the City and the <br />E&R Team agrees on should be implemented to <br />update the report. <br /> <br />The final report will be provided to the City for <br />review and comments, then presented to the City <br />commission for approval and adoption. <br /> <br />PRIOR HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />E&R has provided recurring professional services <br />support for the development, design, and overview <br />of small to intermediate public works and public <br />utilities related projects and programs, <br /> <br />These services include: <br /> <br />· Stormwater Master Plan <br />· Site planning and development, <br />· Parks and recreation facilities, <br />· Parking facilities planning, design, modifications <br />and additions, <br />· Drainage rehabilitations and improvements, <br />· Utility improvements and accommodations, <br />· Project management planning, <br />· Contract administration, and <br />· Construction observation <br /> <br />{)...v,.,..
