BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size and cost) This RRR project consisted of improvement of the riding surface of a four-lane divided paved roadway at SR 985 (SW 107th Avenue) from SR 94 (SW 88th Street/Kendall Drive) to SW 56th Street (Miller Drive), Three major intersections within the project limits were improved as follows: · At SR 94 (Kendall Drive) the addition of dual left turn lanes in the east/west directions will increase the left turn capacity and will reduce the risk of left turn crashes due to the protected "one only phase signal", The existing five-section signal head was replaced with two three-section signal heads in the east/west directions. · At SR 986 crashes will be reduced by offsetting the east/west left turn lanes by eight feet and closing the opening in the east bound left turn.~ lane. This required widening of the intersection. As a result of the 1P '" ,.~ widening, milling and resurfacing of the intersection, upgrading the traffic signal equipment, relocating light poles and four drainage inlets were required. · Miller Drive: Improvements to safety and operational conditions was accomplished by reducing the east/west approach median widths; increasing the left turn lane storage length; optimizing the green splits; moving the southbound stop-bar toward the intersection; and adding street lights on the northwest corner and southeast corner of the intersection.
