BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size and cost) In order to improve the operational problems of the intersection of SR 5 (US 1/Brickell Ave.) at SR 972 (Coral Way/SE 13th St.), widening the east approach receiving lane to align the eastbound through movement along SE 12th Terrace was required. The existing easement on the south side of SW 12th Terrace was approximately 5' off the edge of existing curb and gutter at the edge of pavement. FOOT needed to acquire additional ROW in order to widen the east approach. Milling and resurfacing of SE 13th Street and SE 12th Terrace west and east of Brickell Avenue was performed. New curb cuts were provided at all four corners of the Brickell Avenue intersection to comply with current ADA requirements. Safety improvements included the relocation of existing hydrants and street lights to the back of existing sidewalks. Other improvements included the replacement of portions of concrete curb and gutters and a portion of the concrete roadway (approx. 65 sy) along Brickell Avenue.
