Medsouth Park
Miami, FL

Medsouth Park is a small neighborhood park in Miami-Dade
County's rapidly urbanizing southwestern district. Miami-Dade is
already one of the most urbanized areas in the State of Florida
and, as growth continues, the Park and Recreation Department
is striving to meet residents' recreational needs while also
affording protection for natural resources and open space. A
portion of Medsouth is pine rockland, a type of forest unique
to southern Florida that is home to a number of listed plant and
animal species and which is recognized as a globally imperiled
habitat type. The site has been severely impacted by illegal
dumping and by invasion of exotic plant species.
Disney's Celebration Village and Downtown
Celebration, FL

Celebration is a new 4,900-acre town five minutes south of
Walt Disney World. The master plan combines residential units
with community, education, health, commercial, retail, and
recreational facilities. Encircled by a 4,700-acre greenbelt and
featuring an extensive network of walking and bicycle trails,
Celebration is a pedestrian-friendly place to live, work, and play.

The heart of the residential area is Celebration Village; at its core
is a traditional downtown retail and business district modeled
after smalltown America. Here, stores, restaurants, a town hall,
post office, offices, cinema, and apartments coexist along a
wide promenade circling Town Center Lake.
Atlanta Botanical Garden Parking Garage & Visitors Center
Design, Atlanta, GA

The Atlanta Botanical Garden chose EDAW to join the design
team led by architects Jova/Daniels/Busby for the design and
implementation of the Garden's new Visitor Center. The 10,000
sf Visitor Center and parking facility, to be designed to LEED
certification criteria, is the first major project to emerge from the
Garden's recently completed master plan. The Visitor Center's
placement, overlooking Piedmont Park, will completely re-orient
the entry sequence for the visitor, and will turn the Garden's
"front" toward the park; visitor entrance into the existing formal
gardens will be through the Woodland Shade Garden, which will
also be upgraded.
