The 21-acre park is a legacy to the <br />vision and alliance of the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, <br />the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, and the many <br />civic organizations, special interest groups and designers <br />involved. Centennial Olympic Park is designed as a permanent <br />downtown revitalization feature. Thematically, it imprints a <br />landscape "quilt" into the fabric of city streets to convey the <br />cultural heritage of the American South and Atlanta's reputation <br />as the "City of Trees". <br /> <br />Services: Prime / Park Design (EDAW) <br /> <br />Parc Diagonal Mar <br />Barcelona, NA <br /> <br />The park includes active and passive play areas, a major <br />pond, an outdoor cafe, a play fountain and viewing mounds. <br />All of these features are intertwined with a comprehensive <br />set of pedestrian paths -- some soft, some hard -- that sweep <br />throughout the park towards the sea. Rendered in a resolute <br />modernist language, the park is conceived as an abstract <br />tapestry in its plan view. <br /> <br />Services: Master Planning, Design (EDAW) <br /> <br />Wharf District Parks <br />Boston, MA <br /> <br />The Central Artery Tunnel, a.k.a. the Big Dig project, is the <br />biggest and most expensive public works program in U.S. <br />history. It will be accompanied by 250 acres of new parks and <br />open space, including three new downtown parks along a linear <br />path. At four acres, the Wharf District Parks are the largest. <br />They will occupy a five-block waterfront area extending between <br />Christopher Columbus Park and High Street. <br /> <br />After participating in an international design competition, <br />EDAW's preliminary "City Green/Green City" concept won the <br />project. The mission of the design team - 10 firms led by EDAW <br />- in subsequent work was to create a waterfront destination that <br />is uniquely "of Boston," enjoyable for both residents and visitors. <br /> <br />Services: Master Plan, Park Design (EDAW) <br />
