BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope. size. and cost)

The Atlanta Botanical Garden
chose EDAW to join the design
team led by architects
Jova/Daniels/Busby for the design
and implementation of the Garden's
new Visitor Center. The 10,000 sf
Visitor Center and parking facility,
to be designed to LEED
certification criteria, is the first
major project to emerge from the
Garden's recently completed
master plan. The Visitor Center's
placement, overlooking Piedmont
Park, will completely re-orient the
entry sequence for the visitor, and
will turn the Garden's "front" toward
the park; visitor entrance into the
existing formal gardens will be
through the Woodland Shade
Garden, which will also be
upgraded.

-~. ..~~._~; '~jf~, : ',' \

; '. r' "", , '\;;;. Building on major existing collections including ferns, hostas, camellias and
hydrangeas, the woodland garden will also feature new gathering spaces and architectural elements, such as terrace gardens,
pavilions and water features, to complement the revised circulation plan. The enhanced woodland will welcome visitors with striking
natural beauty as it helps orient them on approach to the Garden's numerous special destinations.

r-T

Site Concept Plan I

25.
