BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size and cost)

Programming, Planning, Architectural and Engineering services were provided for the design of the Evelyn Langlieb
Greer Park, a new 10-acre park located in the Village of Pinecrest. The park includes a 5,000 SF Community Center
consisting of an activity room, public restrooms, administrative park offices, a snack shop, a large recreation gazebo
for public gatherings, a covered children's playground, parking for 140 vehicles, two soccer fields, two softball fields,
batting cages, a tot lot, and a perimeter jogging path with fitness stations. The park also has an Internet Wi-Fi Spot.
The park was proposed as the corner stone of their new civic development and rehabilitation plan, as well as the cen-
ter for the new Village of Pinecrest Community.

.

So as not to overwhelm the park with a single monolithic structure, the building's general layout emphasizes each of
the program spaces into distinct and individual elements of various expressed hierarchies. The resulting low scale
ensemble consists of four main elements. The Community Center and associated spaces form the main structure.
Two public restroom buildings frame views from the main public space unto the green and create a small courtyard. A
separate 2,300 SF Gazebo-like recreation pavilion and entry tower complete the assemblage. Finally, the individual
components are tied together by an exposed wood trellised colonnade with natural-stone faced columns that forms a
delicate pedestrian spine linking the Gazebo, the Tower, the Center, and the restroom buildings.

Cost -$ 4 million

The Evelyn Langlieb Greer Park
was highlighted as one of the
Best Playgrounds in South Florida
by Parenting Magazine in 2005.

25.
