B. PROJECT UNDERSTANDING AND APPROACH . The following section describes our Team's understanding of the project and our proposed approach, as detailed throughout 3 key sub-sections as follows: 1. The firm's thorough understanding of the scope 2. The firm's identification of significant project issues. 3. The constructability of the firm's approach. Understanding the Scope of Work The WA team recognizes that the proposed Heritage Park & Parking Garage project represents a great opportunity for the City to reinforce its on-going commitment of excellence to its citizens, and our team has the related experience and a strong understanding of the various programmatic component require- ments to assure the project's success. First and foremost, the WA team has extensive experience in the design of parking garages, parks, and associated park facilities (such as courts, playgrounds, and pavil- ions, etc.) as illustrated by other sections of this RFQ. Significant Project Issues The WA team has familiarized itself with the project site and its proposed functional requirements, and has identified several key issues that will require special attention during the early design and planning proc- ess. . Vehicular Accessibility: The roughly three acre site, by virtue of its size and location along Collins and close proximity to the William Lehman Causeway, requires special early attention to how all the programmatic components are co-located to assure easy access to the site and from within. Issues of traffic, ingress and egress, views, buff- ers, light spillage, etc. will all require attention.
