<br />ORDINANCE NO. 98-50 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, PROVIDING EACH YEAR THE CITY'S ANNUAL <br />BUDGET MAY BE AMENDED, SUCH THAT TRANSFERS <br />BETWEEN LINE ITEMS WITHIN A DEPARTMENTAL <br />BUDGET OR DECREASES IN LINE ITEMS NOT <br />AMOUNTING TO MORE THAN 20% OF THE TOTAL <br />BUDGET MAY BE MADE BY THE CITY MANAGER IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH CERT AIN PROCEDURES; <br />PROVIDING FOR OTHER AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR <br />GRANTS AND GIFTS; PROVIDING FOR A POST AUDIT; <br />PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, wishes to provide for an amendment <br />procedure to the budget may be utilized each year if the City adopts its annual budget; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, compliance with Article 4.10 of the City Charter, Section 218.23(1 )(b) Florida <br />Statutes, the City wishes to acquire an annual post audit and be eligible to participate in revenue <br />sharing under minimum entitlement; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Amendments to the Budget. Each year the City's annual budget may be amended <br />from time to time as follows: <br /> <br />(A) <br /> <br />(B) <br /> <br />Budget Amendment Ord, <br /> <br />Minor Amendments. Transfers between line items within a departmental budget or <br />decreases in line items not amounting to more than 20% of the total budget of each <br />department may be made by the City Manager by written statement describing the <br />transfers and the reasons therefor. A copy of such statement shall be filed with the <br />City Clerk and delivered to the Mayor and each of the City Commissioners. A copy <br />shall also be posted at a conspicuous place in City Hall. The transfers shall become <br />effective 14 days after posting unless the Mayor or any member of the City <br />Commission notifies the City Manager that he/she wishes the transfer to be placed <br />upon the Agenda ofthe next City Commission meeting for consideration by the entire <br />City Commission. A transfer considered by the Commission must be approved by <br />majority. <br /> <br />Other Amendments. All other budgetary transfers shall be approved by Ordinance of <br />the City Commission provided however, up to one (1 %) per cent of the contingency <br />reserve fund may be transferred to any departmental budget by approval of a duly <br />enacted resolution. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
