<br />~ <br /> <br />""" <br /> <br />!IIlI <br /> <br />- Capital Improvement Needs <br /> <br />.... <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />This section of the plan provides a listing of capital improvements that are identified in accordance <br />with Rule 9J-5.016(1)(a) F.A.C. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach recognizes the need to provide a full range of municipal services to its <br />residents, businesses, visitors and property owners. These services include public safety, recreation, <br />transportation and cultural elements. Additionally, the City will act to maintain and promote <br />viability through a proactive economic devdopment and redevelopment program. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Public Works <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The City's on-going contractual arrangements provide for the delivery of services and the <br />maintenance, expansion and improvements to utility facilities. The City continues to recognize street <br />resurfacing and the undergrounding of utilities as priorities. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The primary intent and anticipated expenditures rdative to parks and recreation is the continued <br />development of recreational resources within the City. As reported previously, in addition to <br />beaches, the City owns approximately sixteen acres of parklands. The majority of this land will be <br />developed as improved park sites. A recreational need analysis is being devdoped within the City. <br />This analysis will identify specific improvements for the available land along with cost estimates. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Traffic and Pedestrian Circulation <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The City does not anticipate any capacity rdated road improvement projects within this plan. The <br />City does recognize the need for improvements within the pedestrian circulation system. In <br />particular, sidewalks need to be installed or repaired in various locations. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Community Facilities <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The new Government Center including City Hall, the Police Department, a post office, library and <br />community center is planned for Sunny Isles Boulevard. It is anticipated that this project will <br />encourage additional compatible redevelopment projects within the immediate area. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Streetscape Enhancements <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Anticipated streetscape improvements and amenities include right-of-way landscaping, including <br />trees, in areas throughout the city and the residential neighborhoods.
