The planning time frame covers a five year period from 1999 to 2005 and a ten year <br />period from 1999 to 2009 in conformity with Rule 9J-5.oo5(4) F.AC. This section also contains <br />the existing transportation system in accordance with Rule 9}-5.019(2). <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />11II <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Roadway System <br /> <br />!lit <br /> <br />The City's roadway system is detailed on the appropriate map. As a barrier island, the City is <br />connected to the remainder of the County by two State roads, The William Lehman Causeway (NE <br />192nd Street - SR 856) and Sunny Isles Boulevard (SR 826). Sunny Isles Boulevard consists of two <br />four lane flyovers and SR 856 is a six lane divided highway. Collins Avenue is a north-south divided <br />highway of four, six, and eight lane sections. 174th Street is a four lane divided highway and the <br />remainder of the local roads have two lanes. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />11II <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />!lit <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The State roadways are classified as State Principal Arterials. These intersections are depicted on a map. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />11II <br /> <br />Public Transit <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The Miami-Dade Transit Authority (MDTA) provides Mass transit within the City. The MDTA <br />operates five Metrobus transit routes connecting the City to regional attractions. The County's <br />transit system also provides multimodal connections to the Metrorail and Metromover.
