Both residential and commercial refuse is collected and transferred by the <br />County with private haulers supplementing commercial refuse collection. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Design Capacity and Demand <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The County utilizes the North Miami Dade Landfi11located within the northern section of the <br />County on NW 4~ Avenue. The landfill takes in approximately two hundred thousand (200,000) <br />tons of refuse each year. The facility has the current capacity to handle an additional five million <br />tons of refuse. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Levels of Service <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />The County is responsible for providing solid waste services for the City of Sunny Isles Beach and <br />other municipalities. The standard for the level of service is established at a per capita rate of 9.9 <br />pounds per day. This levd has proved adequate to accommodate the needs of residents and <br />businesses within the County. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />Projected Capacity and Demand 91-5.011 (1)(1) <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />The County estimates that approximatdy 1.6 million tons of waste is generated each year.
