During the City's first two years ad valorem revenues increased by
approximately 12%. The recent redevdopment along Collins Avenue attributed to this increase. As
the redevdopment continues and the number of available parcels decline it is likely that the rate of
revenue increase will stabilize at approximatdy 5% per year for the next five years. The table below
projects future revenues on the basis of a 5% growth in ad valorem revenues.

-

..

-

-

..

Projected Mnnicipal Ad Valorem Revenues

.

..

..

Source: City of Sunny Isles Beach

""

Revenue Sources Not Utilized by the City

-

..

In accordance with State and Federal guidelines and requirements the County maintains a
stormwater utility fimd. Residential units contribute $2 per month while non-residential properties
pay a fee based upon the amount of impervious area. The devdopment of a City stormwater utility
and improvement program combined with a reduction or dimination of discharge would enhance
the City's efforts to maintain and improve the quality of its waters.

..

..

..

..

..

..

.

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

-

..

-

..

..

..

Sunny Isles Comprehensive Plan - Existing Condi1ions I Background Documents

53

..
