Where shoreline access is to be provided through Mangrove Protection Areas or <br />tidally connected coastal marshes, elevated boardwalks, designed to minimize the <br />impact to wetland vegetation, shall be utilized. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />lB. Mangrove forest, coastal hammock or other natural vegetative communities which <br />remain in the City shall be maintained, protected, and incorporated into <br />landscaping plans where development or redevelopment is to occur. To promote <br />re-vegetation of coastal band mangrove trees, pruning or alteration of propagate <br />or seed bearing trees shall be conducted in such a manner to preserve as much of <br />the seed source as possible. Limited removal and trimming of mangrove trees for <br />the purpose of providing necessary maintenance and/or visual shoreline access may <br />be permitted, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 24.58 of the Code, as may be <br />amended from time to time, if monitored and done under expert supervision and <br />mitigation is performed, if required, by Miami-Dade County DERM. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />" <br />. <br /> <br />I <br />. <br /> <br />IC. Wherever a coastal wetland is degraded or destroyed, a wetland with an equal or <br />greater amount of habitat value shall be created or restored, maintained and <br />monitored for three years or until such time as a viable self-perpetuating wetland <br />habitat is established. Created habitats shall be perpetually maintained free of <br />invasive exotic vegetation.
