ORDINANCES FOR FIRST READING <br /> <br />7 A, An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending <br />Chapter 26 of the City Code to Provide for a New Article III to Incorporate General <br />Election Provisions; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Repealing All Ordinances in <br />Conflict; Providing a Severability Clause; Providing for Inclusion in Code; Providing An <br />Effective Date, <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and reported, <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup noted that this is a housekeeping item to bring the City Charter into <br />compliance with what the residents voted on this past November, <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve the <br />proposed ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5-0 <br />in favor. An Ordinance ofthe City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending <br />Section 265-46 of the City Code to Establish Security Lighting Requirements for <br />Commercial/Retail Establishment, Apartment and Condominium Off-Street Surface <br />Parking Lot Areas; Providing for Penalties; Providing for Severability; Providing for <br />Inclusion in the Code; Providing for an Effective Date, <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Attorney Ottinot reported and noted the <br />effective date is 120 days after second reading in order to give adequate notice, <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Bob Welsh <br /> <br />Community Development Director Robert Solera said Code Enforcement will: conduct night- <br />time research to identify locations, publish an article, send a reminder notice in 60 days to <br />those that are not in compliance, and assign an inspector at night. City Attorney Ottinot <br />clarified that compliance is approval of the Plan by the City Manager and Police Chief. <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />proposed ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of5-0 <br />in favor.
