CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Edelcup at 6:00 p.m. with the following officials <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor Norman S. Edelcup <br />Vice Mayor Lewis 1. Thaler <br />Comm. Roslyn Brezin <br />Commissioner Gerry Goodman <br />Commissioner George "Bud" Scholl <br /> <br />Acting City Manager Rick Conner <br />City Attorney Hans Ottinot <br />City Clerk Jane A. Hines, CMC <br />Assistant City Manager/Services Jorge Vera <br />Assistant City Attorney Fernando Amuchastegui <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE / INVOCATION <br />Action: Code Enforcement & Licensing Assistant Director Helena Forbes led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the flag, and City Historian Richard C. Schulman gave the invocation. <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup gave opening remarks of decorum. <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />3A. Regular City Commission Meeting - February 19,2009. <br />Action: Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Goodman seconded a motion to <br />approve the above-mentioned Summary Minutes. The motion was approved by a voice <br />vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />4. ORDER OF BUSINESS (Additions/Deletions/Amendments) <br /> <br />4A. Request to Hear Items: Hear Item 7A with Item lOG; Defer Item 9A; Revised Items 6A <br />and Item lOB. <br />Action: Mayor Edelcup noted the above changes to the agenda. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brezin moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br />above changes to the agenda. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />SA. Presentation and Discussion on the City's "Green" Initiatives. <br />Action: Acting City Manager Conner introduced Michael Singer and Jason Bregman of <br />Michael Singer Group, who gave a power point presentation on the green initiatives all over <br />the world. Acting City Manager Conner said as we move forward on our upcoming projects <br />we will talk to Michael Singer for input and suggestions. Mayor Edelcup said whatever input <br />we can get to help make Sunny Isles Beach a "Green" City is a step in the right direction. <br />
