<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting March 19,2009 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Mayor Edelcup said he had asked staff if we can do this project in-house and not spend the <br />$93,000, and staff has come back and advised him that they can do the project. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to deny this <br />resolution. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 to deny it. <br /> <br />lOB. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Co-Naming <br />175th Terrace Street, from Collins Avenue to Atlantic Boulevard, as "City <br />Commissioner Irving Turetsky Street"; Authorizing the City Manager to Expend Funds, in <br />an Amount of up to $600.00, for the Installation of Street Signs and to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate the Intent of this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />(Sponsored by Commissioner Oerry Ooodman) <br /> <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: A Revised Cover Memo and Resolution were distributed prior to <br />the Meeting. See action under Item 4A. This item was heard before Item lOA.] City Clerk <br />Hines read the title, and Commissioner Ooodman reported, noting that Irving Turetsky is one <br />of the original founders of the City. Commissioner Ooodman presented him with a framed <br />mockup of the new street sign. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Irving Turetsky <br /> <br />Commissioner Goodman moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve <br />this resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2009-1393 was adopted by a voice vote of <br />5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Providing <br />for a Conditional Approval of a Request for Construction Staging Submitted by Dezer Hotel <br />Management, Ltd. to Allow Construction Staging Not to Exceed a Total of Six (6) <br />Months Time Frame; Providing the City Manager and the City Attorney with the Authority <br />to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Community Development Director Robert <br />Solera reported, noting Dezer Properties has come to the City with a $15,000 check. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Warren Jay Stamm <br /> <br />Warren Jay Stamm ofDezer Hotel Management, asked with respect to the staging area, it is <br />currently set up for the use of the Royale, and because of the way in which their entities are <br />structured and the different divisions with respect to the Royale, they would like to get a <br />clarification to this resolution that it be applicable to Dezer properties. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler asked that they make sure that those sliding doors are closed when they <br />are not there on that property on l85th Street, and Mr. Stamm agreed noting that Code <br />Enforcement has been very diligent on their properties. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution, as amended to be applicable to Dezer Properties. Resolution No. 2009-1394 <br />was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br />S <br />
