<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 16,2010 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />an Agreement with Municipal Code Corporation for Supplementation Services of the <br />City's Code of Ordinances Including Researching, Editing, Indexing, and Publishing in <br />Print and Electronically the Enacted Legislation for Inclusion in the Code for a Period of <br />Three (3) Years with Automatic Renewal, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the <br />Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br />Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2010-1601 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10D. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving <br />the Selection of Preferred Government Insurant Trust (PGIT) as the City's Provider <br />for Property, Casualty, Auto, and Workers' Compensation Insurance for a One- Year <br />Period, in the Amount of $521,015.00, as Outlined in Exhibit "A; Authorizing the City <br />Manager to Enter into Agreements with the Provider, Provided Said Agreements are <br />Approved as to Form and Legal Sufficiency by the City Attorney; Further Authorizing the <br />City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br />Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Conner thanked Assistant to the <br />City Manager/HR Priscilla Walker for her hard work, as we have been able to increase our <br />coverage this year and reduce our costs. He introduced Bob Hollander of Brown and Brown <br />Insurance, who reported that we have reduced our Commercial Package Policy premium by <br />l5%, ($70,000 - $80,000) which combined with last year's premium savings of20% means <br />the City has received a 35% Package Policy premium policy reduction in the last two years <br />with increased coverage. We have broaden the coverage especially in two areas of the <br />property insurance ofthe City, we have been able to get a blanket coverage which eliminates <br />specific coverage in locations. This year PGIT has added a non-monetary coverage which <br />gives the City up to $100,000 of expenses for issues that would involve elected officials such <br />as ethics investigations, Government in the Sunshine issues, and recall petition issues, <br />anything that is not monetary that is an investigative-type process. He thanked staff, <br />especially Priscilla Walker and Yael Londono of Human Resources for assisting him in <br />gathering all the data and helping him to negotiate the renewal and reduction. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: Bob Hollander, Brown and Brown Insurance; <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Thaler moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution.
