<br />Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 16,2010 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />10E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Ratifying the <br />Approval of an Agreement Between Logistics Management Group and the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach, to Provide Logistical and Event Management Services for the City's Jazz <br />Festival on October 16,2010, in an Amount Not to Exceed $48,000.00, Attached Hereto as <br />Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Cultural and Human Services Director Susan <br />Simpson reported noting that this is our 3rd Annual Jazz Festival and that Logistics is the <br />same group that we have used to help us produce this event. We were able to save <br />approximately $17,000 this year by using local entertainment. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve this <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2010-1603 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />10F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Awarding <br />RFP No. 10-07-01 to and Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and Enter into an <br />Agreement with Midtown Towing of Miami, Inc. and with Downtown Towing <br />Company, Inc. to Provide Police Towing Services; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said <br />Agreements; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Captain Michael Grandinetti reported. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Goodman moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to approve <br />this resolution. Resolution No. 2010-1604 was adopted by a voice vote of5-0 in favor. <br /> <br />lOG. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Awarding <br />RFP No. 10-07-02 to Negotiate and Enter into an Agreement with Shoreline <br />Foundation, Inc. for Professional Construction Services for the Demolition and <br />Construction ofthe Historic Sunny Isles BeachlNewport Fishing Pier at Pier Park, in an <br />Amount Not to Exceed $4,000,000.00, in Substantially the Same Form, Based on the Pricing, <br />Terms, and Conditions Listed in the Bid Response, Attached Hereto as Exhibit "A"; <br />Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All <br />Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Conner reported that we are ready <br />to move forward. The permitting process is on track and we will have a ground breaking <br />ceremony in October. This contractor was the lowest bidder, and their timeframe was less <br />than half of the other low bidders, and we believe they have the knowledge and expertise, <br />and the equipment to do this. The bids ranged from $3.8 Million up to $5.335 Million. He <br />also noted in the documentation that it states that Dr. Comfeld is contributing $3.5 Million, <br />which is incorrect, he is contributing $2 Million. <br /> <br />8 <br />
