Projects <br />currently in the design and permitting stage include the 1 st &4th Floor <br />Courthouse Renovations and the 5th & 6th Floor Courthouse Renovations. <br /> <br />Courthouse Renovations <br />AECOM has completed the design of 33,100 SF of renovations on four <br />floors of the existing courthouse. The first phase included the design <br />of a new courtroom and a new hearing room on the fourth floor space. <br />The new courtroom is designed to accommodate 45 spectators, a 14 <br />person jury box, as well as the judge, witness, clerk, and bailiff. Two new <br />judicial chambers with support space were also provided. The second <br />phase of the renovations provides five new courtrooms and one new <br />hearing room. The new courtrooms are designed to support state of <br />the art court technology, evidence presentation, and the CourtSmart <br />court reporting system. The sixth floor renovation is designed to meet <br />LEED CI certification standards and will feature energy efficient lighting, <br />mechanical systems, and sustainable finishes. <br /> <br />Architectural & Engineering Services for the Government Center - <br />Jail Improvements <br />The project involved exterior stucco I window replacement and under- <br />slab plumbing replacement. All underground sanitary piping and all <br />underground domestic water piping in the original housing pods were <br />replaced with new copper for the domestic water and cast iron for the <br />sanitary sewer. The second major component of the renovations involved <br />the replacement of all of the original badly damaged exterior stucco <br />and the original rusting windows. New stainless steel detention grade <br />windows were installed in all of the housing pods and portions of the <br />administrative areas. <br /> <br />Architectural & Engineering Services for the Government Center - <br />Chiller Plant Study and Expansion <br />The Government Center Chiller Plant was expanded with the installation <br />of a new 700 ton centrifugal chiller to replace a smaller existing chiller.
