<br /> <br />I <br /> <br />architecture . engineering <br /> <br />BROWARD COLLEGE SIMULATION LABS <br />Davie, Florida <br /> <br /> <br />ACAI has been selected by Broward <br />College to design seven state-of-the-art <br />simulation labs each of which are <br />equipped with human patient simulators <br />and bedside computers; specialized hos- <br />pital equipment specific to the function of <br />each lab; internet access; digitalized <br />video; recording cameras and TV moni- <br />tors. The labs are designed to replicate <br />realistic practice settings and will have an <br />EMS ambulance bay, and Emergency <br />Department, Critical Care units, Medical- <br />Surgical unit, Trauma/Operating/Dental <br />Room, a Labor and Delivery/Neonatal <br />Intensive Care/Pediatric unit; and open <br />lab space to conduct large clinical drills, <br />as well as debriefing rooms, storage <br />space, and video recording control rooms. <br />Each patient care unit will accommodate <br />6 students and an instructor, and have an <br />adjoining control room and storage. <br /> <br />ACAI is approved for the Programming of <br />the project, which will consists of prepar- <br />ing the educational program to serve as <br />the basis of design for the educational <br />facilities and site improvements. The <br />program includes every space, its intend- <br />ed use, capacity, additional requirements, <br />such as equipment, furniture, and special <br />needs of Broward College.
