<br /> <br />I <br /> <br />architecture . engineering <br /> <br />NEW RIVER CENTER <br />Fort Lauderdale, Florida <br /> <br /> <br />ACAI's selection as Consultant and <br />Architect of Record for the re-roofing of <br />the New River Center in Fort Lauderdale's <br />Riverwalk District. The saying "keep the <br />presses rolling" takes on a new meaning <br />in the re-roofing of the building housing <br />the Tribune's Sun Sentinel Newspaper in <br />Downtown Fort Lauderdale that was kept <br />in operation during construction activi- <br />ties. <br /> <br />ACAI provided full time on the field coor- <br />dination that included inspections,forensic <br />investigations, testing and failure analy- <br />sis in order to oversee the successful <br />retrofit of the City's landmark building. <br /> <br />Careful attention to detail, management <br />of construction activities and smooth <br />interfacing with the City, the Owner's <br />attorney, their consultant and Contract <br />'Administration was paramount in the suc- <br />cessful delivery of the re-roofing of this <br />high-rise, 22 story building. <br /> <br />The recommended reroofing system was <br />a Modified Bitumen Sheet Roofing ,sys- <br />tem.
