Ghasem Khavanin, P.E. Civil Engineer Career History: January 2008 to Present: Tally Engineering, Inc. Mr. Khavanin joined Tally Engineering in January 2008 in the capacity of a Roadway design and drainage engineer. Presently Mr. Khavanin is working on the following projects: 2009 - Ongoing - Pembroke Road intersection with new access road at Grand Palms Country Club; Pembroke Pines, Florida. As a design engineer, Mr. Khavanin is directly responsible for alignment, drainage, pavement design, utilities, channelization, signage pavement marking, signalization, lighting, curb and gutter, and all the modifications to Pembroke Road for the new entrance, including but not limited to, transition lane, acceleration/deceleration lane from east and west approach to Grand Palms Drive for the new access road to a community of 500 homes. This design is in two phases: design the access road for the developer and modification of Pembroke Road, including signalization, to be paid for by the City of Pembroke Pines. The scope of the design is the design and maintenance of traffic on Pembroke Road to provide modification of the median, a storage lane and new signalization for eastbound and westbound entrance and exit to and from the community and Pembroke Road. 1999 to 2001: City Engineer for City of Plantation in Broward County, Florida In charge of the Engineering Department, involved in the daily activities associated with Engineering Department, including designs of utilities (water, sewer, force main and pump station), paving and grading, lighting, road improvement and land development. Reviewed and approved the entire projects within the city limits. Worked with Broward County and the state for their work within the city limits. Prepared yearly budgets for the Engineering Department and the entire City of Plantation improvement/engineering projects. 1990 to 1999: Assistant Town Engineer for the Town of Davie, in Broward County, Florida In charge of the Engineering Department, involved in the daily activities associated with Engineering Department, including designs of utilities (water, sewer, force main and pump station), paving and grading, lighting, road improvement and land development. Reviewed and approved the entire projects within the city limits. Worked with Broward County and the state for their work within the city limits. Also involved in completing the application for grant money and construction of the entire capital projects. 1984 to 1999: Environmental Engineer for the County Health Department Reviewed and approved the plans for water main improvement and treatment plant and issuance of the permit for construction. Inspected the treatment plant and provided recommendations for improvement and correction if needed and reviewed monthly, quarterly and yearly test results for water quality and provided recommendations if needed.
