BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />B&A prepared a master plan and landscape schematic design. The project entailed establishing a re-use plan for City-owned parking <br />areas facing the waterfront, beach dune restoration and the schematic design of the Pompano Beach Boulevard and the waterfront <br />promenade. B&A carried out an extensive public involvement process to build consensus as to the future of current parking areas, <br />and performed traffic, parking and engineering studies to evaluate traffic volumes and parking demand with the intent to create <br />open space in the area through the construction of a parking structure. <br /> <br />Following the completion Plan, B&A was selected to develop a complete streetscape program. The primary goal for the redesign <br />was to create a pedestrian-friendly environmenf less dominated by the automobile. The first section is located along Atlantic Blvd. <br />Construction documents are being designed for this segment which includes fhe use of stamped and colored concrete for decorative <br />purposes. Curb and guffer has been relocafed, impacting the existing drainage system and requiring relocation of four drainage <br />structures. Coordinafion with FOOT drainage deparfment is required to address permiffing issues. The second seelion is immediately <br />adjacent to Atlantic Blvd. Improvemenfs include a redesigned parking lot which incorporates a new landscape scheme, enhanced <br />pedestrian access to businesses via widened sidewalks, modifications to the exisfing parking lot drainage system to accommodate <br />the revised layout, and resurfacing and restriping the parking lot pavement accordingly. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />------- <br />. ----- <br /> <br /> <br />Sidewalk <br /> <br />Lands,caped <br />Medllln with Tower <br /> <br />25.
