Contract Type: CITY OF CORAL GABLES CONTINUING SERVICES CONTRACT Project Name: MIRACLE MILE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS Location: Coral Gables, Florida Description: Under a General Engineering Service Contract, Metric provided design and planning services to the City of Coral Gables for drainage improvements, site design, safety studies, intersection analysis, access management and roadway improvements. The Miracle Mile roadway improvement project involved the development of design alternatives to reconfigure travel lanes, on-street parking and sidewalks in order to enhance the downtown business area between LeJuene Road and Douglas Road. Streetscaping and sidewalk improvements were developed to accommodate outdoor cafes while maintaining the character of the Coral Gables downtown. Project activities included preparation of conceptual engineering plans, public information meetings, and stakeholder meetings with the Downtown Business District agents in order to reach consensus for the planned improvements. Department of Public Works, 2800 SW 72nd Avenue, FL 33155 305-460-5008 Design Cost: $250,000 Project Status: January 2004 - January 2005 Project Name: GENERAL ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT Location: Palm Beach, Florida Description: Design and plans preparation required for the construction of roadway and drainage improvements. Following the approval of a comprehensive drainage study of two major drainage basins, the Town of Palm proceeded with the design of a new storm water management and conveyance system that required the reconstruction of several miles of roadway within the Town limits. The project required a close coordination with utility owners and property owners. It also required Roadway and drainage design and pump station design with outfalls to the Intracoastal Waterways, which required close coordination with SFWMD. Page 5
