She has ten years of structural engineering <br />experience primarily involving low-rise, residential, and commercial buildings. <br />Ms. Hernandez-Gutierrez has significant experience in regulations from the <br />Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Florida Building Code <br />(FBC), American Concrete Institute (AC\), American Society of Civil Engineers <br />(ASCE), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), American Institute of <br />Steel Construction (AISC), and International Code Council (ICC). Her software <br />experience includes Random Access Memory (RAM) and Portland Cement <br />Association (PCA) programs, ENERCALC, HBPILECAP, RISA-3D, and <br />AutoCAD. <br /> <br />Ms. Hernandez-Gutierrez's current general responsibilities with PBS&J include: <br /> <br />· Designs and develops plans and drawings, including the development of <br />preliminary layout and/or final drawings. <br />· Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work. <br />· Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing <br />shop drawings for conformance with specifications, prepares records and <br />progress reports defining construction progress, observes construction <br />procedures, and evaluates the results from quality control testing. <br />· Researches the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, <br />and regulatory agency specifications. <br />· Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications, <br />and writes miscellaneous reports. <br /> <br />Before joining PBS&J, Ms. Hernandez-Gutierrez's work history with other <br />companies included serving as: <br /> <br />· Structural engineer for various architecture and/or engineering companies in <br />south Florida. Performed structural engineering for commercial and <br />multistory buildings, reviewed shop drawing plans, and provided <br />construction administration including requests for information (RFI) and site <br />visits. <br />· Professor in the Department of Structural Analysis at the Technical Institute <br />Jose Antonio Echevarria in Havana, Cuba. Taught/assisted with teaching <br />Mechanical Theory I & II and Complements of Mechanical & Resistance of <br />Materials courses. Also served as a consultant and member of the tribunal <br />for the evaluation of thesis and projects pertaining to the courses. <br />· Drafter assistant/CAD operator in south Florida responsible for the <br />elaboration of post-tensioned shop drawings and structural plans for <br />commercial and multistory buildings, reviewed post-tensioned and rebar <br />shop drawing plans, and provided estimates for post-tensioned materials. <br /> <br />PBSle <br />
