<br />Professional Qualifications
<br />
<br />Jordanna Rubin has worked in the Environmental Management field for over 8 years. Mrs. Rubin has a
<br />Masters in Public Administration, with a concentration in Environmental and Energy Policy, and a
<br />certificate in Conservation Biology from Columbia University in New York City. Mrs. Rubin began her
<br />career working for the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies analyzing wetland inventories for the
<br />Ramsar Convention. Prior to returning to her home town in Miami, she became the Assistant Director of
<br />the Energy Policy Research Center at Columbia University, managing both the academic program and
<br />research initiatives.
<br />
<br />Most recently, Mrs. Rubin was the Environmental Resources Manager for the Environmental Division at
<br />the City of Miami Beach. She was responsible for the management of all environmental projects and
<br />regulations within the City and served as a liaison to local and state environmental regulatory agencies. [n
<br />addition, she launched the development of several sustainable initiatives including a Green Business
<br />Network, a "Green Map", and an Environmental Sustainability Committee. Other sustainable program
<br />management areas included alternative transportation policies, green purchasing guidelines, energy and
<br />water conservation programs, and the initiation of green building standards for the City's building code.
<br />Mrs. Rubin was also the project manager for the design, engineering, and construction of over l5 Public
<br />Works construction projects; including shoreline restoration and protection and alternative transportation
<br />projects.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Rubin currently serves as Co-Chair of the Local Government Committee of the Florida Green
<br />Building Coalition. [n addition, she is a member of the South Florida Chapter of the US Green Building
<br />Council, the Association of Environmental Professionals, and the Florida Shore and Beach Preservation
<br />Association.
