BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope. size. and cost)

Zyscovich was commissioned as the Urban Designer to work with Wallace Roberts and Todd to create Miami Beach's Community
Redevelopment Plan for the Historic Convention Village and to write the Architectural Design Guidelines. The CRA boundaries
included Lincoln Road. the Convention Center and Collins and Washington Avenues between Dade Boulevard and 14th Street. The
study was completed on time and within budget and took one year to complete.

The subsequent Master Plan identified uses for two central blocks and to address the needs of the New World Symphony. This study
evolved into a master planning initiative which would transform the District into a global destination. The master plan proposes to create a
21st Century Town Center/Park and also includes the planning for a 65ft. high state-of-the-art Broadcast Space for the Future New
World Symphony. and future expansion to City Hall and the Convention Center. This Bryant Park-like civic space will serve as a nexus in.
around. and from which public. cultural. recreational. commercial. government. touristic. local. and leisurely activity will radiate.

The public Park in the central part of Miami Beach is a response to the City's character and enhances the community's quality of life. The
pervasive 'civic map to the future' which resulted from that vision serves as a highly detailed ten-year master plan of the entire Convention
Center District of Miami Beach.

.

Cost: $ 20K
Size: Est. 15 Square City Blocks

r;~
"'~l~""
~Vf~~
I ""

.

STANDARD FORM 330

(1/2004) PAGE 1
