The existing Target store on the site
was demolished and a new store was built. Alongside the
new store is the two-level parking deck with 331 spaces.

The elevated parking deck features precast concrete
construction on shallow foundations and is 244 feet by 227
feet with the lower level being concrete slab-on-grade. The
upper level is accessed via an external express ramp. The
deck has been designed to accommodate a potential
future elevated level containing another 170 spaces. Two
functional design features are: (1) orienting the main
elevator and stair towers to promote flow into a pedestrian
plaza and (2) providing cart storage below the external
express ramp.

Size: 331 spaces

Client Reference:
Bill Zanoni
Target/Mervyn's
(612) 761-5384

Completed: 2003
Total Fees Paid to Firm: $200,000 (parking structure
design)
Total Cost of Design and Construction, Estimated and
Actual: $4,5 million
Project Duration: Approximately 2 years

UZ290066.07-Q Heritage Park & Parking Garage.qxp
@ZOOT Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.

~

Omni Development - Miami, FL
Following 15 years of steady decline, the Omni area is
experiencing resurgence as a part of Miami's development
boom. Created by the City of Miami, the Omni Community
Redevelopment Authority (CRA) proposed a bold new plan
for the redevelopment of the entire area located along
Biscayne Boulevard and Biscayne Bay. Working alongside
the Omni CRA and world-renowned architectural firm
Arquitectonica, Kimley-Horn is providing planning
approval, site planning, urban design, civil engineering,
and landscape architecture services. With six, 58-65 story
residential towers offering 4,200 dwelling units and
350,000 square feet of retail space, this 11.3-acre project
will accomplish the CRA's goal to reinvigorate the urban
core with people-activated streets, parks and plazas.
Kimley-Horn is also working with the City and the Omni
CRA to re-establish the City's street grid. The plan is to
divide the one super block into three smaller blocks with
NE 16th and 17th Streets once again linking Biscayne
Boulevard to Margaret Pace Park and the proposed
baywalk. Additionally, NE 17th Street will become an
enhanced pedestrian/auto retail corridor with outdoor
spaces for gatherings.

Client Reference:
Jeremy Klein
Downtown Miami Mall,
LLC
(212) 692-5413

~ .... ,'/TM..........-:p .
.t..hr~f "'~;~:z.:....
V-..........r~l- ..
r.. ,.,.. f..
