The elevated precast concrete deck is supported by cast-in-place concrete foundations, while the lower-level parking surface is a concrete slab-on-grade. From the deck's second level, a connecting pedestrian bridge provides access to the store. Precast concrete facades were detailed to match the store's exterior facade. Cost: $3.25 million. The elevated 244 by 227 foot parking deck features precast concrete construction on shallow foundations; the lower level consists of concrete slab-on-grade. The upper level is accessed via an external express ramp. The deck has been designed to accommodate a potential future elevated level containing another 170 spaces. Functional design features include orienting the main elevator and stair towers to promote flow into a pedestrian plaza and providing cart storage below the external express ramp. Cost: $4.5 million. The site. formerly the location of Riddick Stadium, has been used most recently as a surface parking lot. The ongoing rehabilitation, design. and construction of various buildings on the north campus have created a demand for both new and replacement parking. This new deck will provide parking for campus visitors, as well as limited staff parking. It also will be designed to accommodate future construction on top of the deck of a four-story building planned for academic use. Cost: $8.5 million. Services provided by Kimley-Horn include a parking feasibility analysis, structural design, parking consulting, traffic operations. civil engineering. landscape architecture, and overall project coordination.
