11 Calvin, Giordano and Associates Inc. has used the recommendations in the SMMPs to modify the update permits issued by SFWMD for the within the City or District boundary. Our firm was also retained to prepare plans and specifications for the improvements to the various elements identified in the SMMP, to aid in securing permits, advertising, bidding, recommend award of these projects to the most qualified contractor and provide construction services an inspection during the construction phase. Planning Services Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. provides complete planning and zoning services for the City of Weston, the Town of Lake Park and the City of Marathon, as well as site plan review services for the City of Miramar, the Village of Wellington and the City of Lauderhill and the Town of Davie. For the City of Weston and the City of Marathon, we provide all aspects of planning and are contracted as consulting planners. In addition to managing the day to day planning activities, some of the planning tasks we provide include the preparation of the comprehensive plan, the development of the zoning code and the development of the Land Development Regulations. In addition, we provide development review services, site plan reviews, rezoning and land use plan amendments. The planning department of Calvin, Giordano & Associates is staffed with planners who have both public and private planning experience. This affords us a unique perspective and opportunity to fully understand the dynamics of the planning process from both the public and private perspective. This helps us understand the importance of maintaining a close working relationship with staff; the development community and municipal officials. Capital Improvements The result of such study will be summarized in a series of recommendations and estimated costs for all proposed improvements. Any proposed infrastructure improvements must adhere to recommendations of the Capital Improvement Plan once adopted by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Section I Sunny Isles Beach Request for Qualifications - General Municipal Contract Services December 20, 2002 Page 6 The intent of the capital improvement plan is to provide a set of guidelines and 1 recommendations that will enhance the function and appearance of the com- munity by attempting to conform to a uniform set of standards throughout the community. The plan will examine the current conditions within the community and propose improvements that should be implemented as a means to upgrade the infra- structure and other existing features to establish aesthetic consistency. These improvements will primarily be related to traffic safety and control, roadway 1 renovation, drainage improvements, additional sidewalks, uniform signage and enhanced landscaping and irrigation.
