11 <br />Calvin, Giordano and Associates Inc. has used the recommendations in the <br />SMMPs to modify the update permits issued by SFWMD for the within the City or <br />District boundary. Our firm was also retained to prepare plans and specifications <br />for the improvements to the various elements identified in the SMMP, to aid in <br />securing permits, advertising, bidding, recommend award of these projects to the <br />most qualified contractor and provide construction services an inspection during <br />the construction phase. <br />Planning Services <br />Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. provides complete planning and zoning <br />services for the City of Weston, the Town of Lake Park and the City of Marathon, <br />as well as site plan review services for the City of Miramar, the Village of <br />Wellington and the City of Lauderhill and the Town of Davie. For the City of <br />Weston and the City of Marathon, we provide all aspects of planning and are <br />contracted as consulting planners. In addition to managing the day to day <br />planning activities, some of the planning tasks we provide include the preparation <br />of the comprehensive plan, the development of the zoning code and the <br />development of the Land Development Regulations. In addition, we provide <br />development review services, site plan reviews, rezoning and land use plan <br />amendments. <br />The planning department of Calvin, Giordano & Associates is staffed with <br />planners who have both public and private planning experience. This affords us <br />a unique perspective and opportunity to fully understand the dynamics of the <br />planning process from both the public and private perspective. This helps us <br />understand the importance of maintaining a close working relationship with staff; <br />the development community and municipal officials. <br />Capital Improvements <br />The result of such study will be summarized in a series of recommendations and <br />estimated costs for all proposed improvements. Any proposed infrastructure <br />improvements must adhere to recommendations of the Capital Improvement <br />Plan once adopted by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Section I <br />Sunny Isles Beach <br />Request for Qualifications - General Municipal Contract Services <br />December 20, 2002 <br />Page 6 <br />The intent of the capital improvement plan is to provide a set of guidelines and <br />1 <br />recommendations that will enhance the function and appearance of the com- <br />munity by attempting to conform to a uniform set of standards throughout the <br />community. <br />The plan will examine the current conditions within the community and propose <br />improvements that should be implemented as a means to upgrade the infra- <br />structure and other existing features to establish aesthetic consistency. These <br />improvements will primarily be related to traffic safety and control, roadway <br />1 <br />renovation, drainage improvements, additional sidewalks, uniform signage and <br />enhanced landscaping and irrigation. <br />The result of such study will be summarized in a series of recommendations and <br />estimated costs for all proposed improvements.
