Previously Mr. Pineda played a central role in
one of the biggest Food industry portal B2B and 132C
site at Foodtrader.com.
Currently Mr. Pineda is the Senior Applications
Developer for the GIS Department at Calvin,
Giordano & Associates. He is working closely with
ESRI to take over various GIS projects using the
internet as the main platform to expose existing and
new GIS data from the Internet browser. Other
responsibilities include increasing CGA client base
through the implementation of web -based custom
GIS and non -GIS applications used internally or
externally. Mr. Pineda also provides company wide
support in internet/intranet applications, database
requests and data conversion.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE:
Developed and Implemented a GIS intelligence
system for a GIS company — From concept to
deployment the project start from a product called
DirecTarget which enables the extraction of knowledge
from your house database or rented lists. Identify and
segment people and households by ethnicity, race,
country-of- origin, socioeconomic status, consumer
behavior and a variety of other important attributes. Use
the results for direct marketing, modeling and customer
relationship management (CRM).
Developed and Implemented a Multidimensional
Report Generator - MDX reporter tool, which provides
access to very large databases in an easy -to- browse
format. The data can be summarized using one variable
for the whole nation or can be expanded to reveal nume-
rous variables down to the zip code level for each state
and county. The data can then be exported into MS Excel
via the click of a button. Among the databases available
for analysis and reporting are the 2000 Census and our
proprietary demographic, socioeconomic and multi-
cultural market databases.
Developed and implemented a Mapping tool -
Marketscape, web edition, offers geo- demographic
exploration, mapping, graphic and tabular reporting
functions. Detailed, color -coded maps can be generated
from state to zip code levels throughout the U.S. Built an
interface which allows the user to select specific records
and drill into the corresponding map.
Developed and implemented an E -commerce
interface for a GIS system — This module allows the
user to register into the system and pay on -line for a year
subscription using a credit card or filling out a credit
application. The system controls process by unique login
ID's, so when users log back they can easily access their
data and download results paying with a credit card.
Developed and Implemented Data conversion
automation procedure — This procedure allows the sys-
tem to extract, transform and load all new fresh and
monthly updates from a data provider called InfoUSA into
a SQL Database. With this process automated the system
will execute all the steps as one single unit avoiding
mistakes and speeding up the entire process by 40 %.
Developed, implemented and delivered a Black Box
technology — Using Microsoft Windows 2000, SQL 2000
enterprise and a Custom Web interface with ASP, Java -
Script and HTML the system enables the extraction of
knowledge from your house database or rented lists.
David Pineda
