Ms. Steinbaum received her <br />Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the <br />University of Michigan and her Master in Landscape <br />Architecture degree from Harvard University. <br />Ms. Steinbaum has assisted on master plans of <br />various park, recreational, and educational facilities. <br />In addition, she has prepared planting design <br />concepts and studies for numerous commercial, <br />residential and roadway projects throughout South <br />Florida. In collaboration with artist Helene Brandt, a <br />sculptural installation called "Path of Expanding <br />Vision," is permanently located at Sacred Heart <br />University. <br />PROJECT DCPERIENCE: <br />Sombrero Beach Redevelopment Plan, Marathon, <br />Florida — The Sombrero Beach Redevelopment Plan <br />includes the design of a number of structures and <br />restroom facilities that allude to the architectural style of <br />the historic railroad camp on Pigeon Key. Native <br />vegetation will be proposed as well as a major dune <br />restoration intended to protect nesting turtles. A new <br />entrance has been proposed which incorporates bronze <br />sculpture that references Loggerhead turtles. Community <br />participation determined the inclusion of other site <br />amenities such as recreation trails, volleyball courts, picnic <br />shelters, a resurfaced play area, and specially paved <br />shower areas. Future design will be coordinated with <br />FDOT in order to provide a planted streetscape and turn- <br />around on Sombrero Beach Road. <br />Bonaventure Master Plan, City of Weston — The City of <br />Weston is improving the Bonaventure section of the <br />community. Ms. Steinbaum assisted in suggesting the <br />proposed enhancements that include landscaped medians, <br />planting design, entryway features, and signage. <br />East & West Entries to City of Marathon, Marathon, <br />Florida - Funded Florida Highway Beautification Grant to <br />create identifiable entrances to the city limits by using a <br />native plant palette, paved walks and keys style structures. <br />Dania Beach Blvd., Dania Beach, Florida — Funded <br />Broward Beautiful FDOT grant for irrigated planting and <br />paving along Dania Beach Blvd. <br />State Road 84, Weston, Florida — Funded Broward <br />Beautiful FDOT grant for irrigated planting at two City of <br />Weston entry points from the north. <br />Stormwater Demonstration Project and Hurricane <br />Monument Refurbishment, Islamorada, Village of <br />Islands — Planting designs and new bike path layout. <br />Golden Glades Interchange and Biscayne Boulevard, <br />North Miami Beach, FL — Designed entry concepts and <br />planting schemes for FDOT District VI. <br />Miramar Parkway, Red Road and Flamingo Road, <br />Miramar, Florida — Conceptual Streetscape Design and <br />City Entrances for Miramar Parkway. <br />JCC campus and Jewish Federation Building, Davie, <br />Florida — Prepared courtyard design concepts, tree <br />preservation and proposed planting plan for new additions <br />to the campus. <br />ICarrie Steinbaum, ASLA <br />
