Interaction with the building department <br />is essential to scheduling the inspections and posting the results in a timely <br />manner. In order to make this a seamless operation, communication links are <br />' critical. <br />F <br />The permits office will also administer engineering permit close out. Providing all <br />disciplines and field inspectors with notice that a project is ready to be finalized <br />will be handled by the permits office. The permit coordinator will oversee all <br />activity, receive status updates, distribute information, review required docu- <br />ments, interact with staff regarding other departmental requirements, and relay <br />results to other agencies as needed. <br />For all other planning and engineering related issues, the CGA project manager <br />will work closely with the appropriate city staff person. When the need arises, <br />our project manager will meet with the city to discuss the issue and plan a course <br />of action. The project manager will conduct an "in- house" meeting with staff to <br />kick off the project. An outline detailing the scope of the project and a time <br />schedule will be developed based upon the on the City's time frame. All internal <br />commentary and recommendations will be discussed and reviewed with the City. <br />CGA's project manager will maintain close contact with City personnel during all <br />phases of the process. CGA will also provide ample staff for all meetings and will <br />attend all committee and public meetings. Hours will be set aside to facilitate the "walk- <br />through" applicant. Processing by appointment will also provided for applicants <br />who find the designated hours inconvenient. Permits may also be submitted by <br />' <br />mail. Submittals requiring engineering review will be reviewed and approved <br />within three (3) days. <br />Engineering permits, for underground utilities, pavement marking and striping, <br />paving and drainage, will be reviewed by the permits coordinator for submittal <br />compliance and then distributed to the various engineering disciplines for stand- <br />ards review. The permits office will control the workflow by tracking review <br />' <br />deadlines and drafting related correspondence. The permits coordinator is the <br />point of contact for the applicant as well as staff. Engineering submittals with a <br />construction value of $500,000 or less will be reviewed, approved and issued <br />' <br />within five (5) days. Those packages with a greater value of $500,000 will be <br />processed within (10) days. Engineering permits will be issued during a Pre- <br />construction Meeting.
