prior to the Bid opening date and attach a receipt from the above County Officer <br />to his bid as evidence of his compliance with the requirements contained herein. <br />U. Maintenance Bond: A Cash Bond or approved form of security furnished by the <br />Contractor or by the Contractor and his Surety as a guaranty of good faith that he <br />will perform any maintenance or repairs with the terms in accordance with the <br />terms of the Contract. <br />V. Material: Materials incorporated in the Project, or used or consumed in the <br />performance of the work. <br />W. Substitution of Securities for Retainage: The City will not accept Substitution <br />of Securities for Retainage. <br />2. Plans and Specifications <br />The specifications referred to herein shall include General Specifications and Special <br />Provisions written by the City and attached hereto. <br />The plans and Specifications, along with all other documents that make up and constitute <br />the Contract, shall be followed in strict accordance as to work, material, and dimensions <br />except when the Engineer may authorize, in writing, an exception. <br />Dimensions given in figures are to hold preference over scaled measurements from the <br />drawings; however, the Engineer shall decide upon all discrepancies and the Contractor <br />shall not proceed when in doubt as t dimension or exception. <br />The Contractor shall be furnished four (4) copies, of the Plans and Specifications, two (2) <br />of which shall be preserved and always kept accessible to the Engineer and Contractor's <br />authorized representatives. <br />3. Intentions <br />It is intended that these Contract Documents and the Accompanying Plans which make <br />up and constitute the Contract shall cover all aspects of the work with explicit provisions, <br />and it is understood that the Contractor has, by personal examination and inquiry if <br />necessary, satisfied himself as to the local conditions and as to the meaning, requirements <br />and reservations of the Specifications and Plans; for after the lettering, no deviation will <br />be allowed form the Engineer's interpretation of the Plans, Specifications and Contract. <br />In case errors or omissions are discovered, they are to be corrected or supplied by the <br />Contractor without extra cost to the City according to the apparent intention of the <br />designing engineer. Work or materials strictly extra herein after provide for. <br />4. Notice and Service Thereof: <br />All notices given by the City under the provisions of this Contract shall be in writing and <br />may be served in any of the following manners: <br />General Specifications Page 3 of 16 <br />
