PART V <br />SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />1. General: <br />The applicable portions of the 2000 Edition of the FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION'S STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE <br />CONSTRUCTION and its supplements as amended by the General Specifications and the <br />following Special Provisions; all are hereby made a part of this Contract. <br />Liquidated Damages for Failure to Complete the Work within the contract time shall be <br />governed by the 2000 Edition, section 80 -10 of the aforementioned FDOT Specifications. <br />Further, the applicable portions of the SOUTH FLORIDA BUILDING CODE and the <br />PUBLIC WORKS MANUAL OF MIAMI -DADE COUNTY, shall apply to this project. <br />Unless otherwise noted, all page references in the Special Provisions refer to the <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br />FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION, 2000 edition. <br />2. Location of Work: <br />The location where the work is to be performed shall be in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />The exact location is between Collins Avenue (SR AIA) and the Intracoastal Waterway and <br />159 Street and 183 Street. <br />3. Scope of Work: <br />The project consist s of installing and maintaining concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and <br />related incidental construction. <br />4. Construction Standards for Sidewalks, curbs, gutters <br />All common sidewalks are required to be four inches (4) thick. Sidewalks that cross a <br />driveway are required to be six (6) inches thick to include concrete aprons. Curbs and <br />gutters are to be constructed in accordance with the Florida Department of <br />Transportation. All sidewalks are required to be maintained at five (5) feet wide except <br />otherwise indicated by the City. All cement is required to be minimum of 3,000 psi.pp. <br />5. Limitations of Operations: <br />Page 74, Section 8 -4.1 — Night Work: <br />No work shall be done at all on Saturday, Sunday or any day between the hours of 5:00 <br />p.m. and 8:00 a.m. except such work as is necessary for the proper care and protection of <br />the work already performed, or except that permission to do such work may be secured <br />from the Engineer. <br />Special Provisions Page 1 of 6 <br />
