SECTION 02222 <br />RIGHTS OF WAY PREPARATION <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />All materials, labor, equipment, tools, and superintendence necessary to provide preparation of the <br />rights of way for landscape and lighting. <br />1.02 DEFINITIONS <br />Preparation of the Rights of Way shall be defined as the removal and disposal of all surface and subsurface <br />obstructions from the rights of way and designated easements, where removal of all such obstructions is not <br />otherwise shown on the plans and or stipulated in the specifications. <br />Such obstructions shall be considered to include remains of houses, foundations, floor slabs, concrete, brick, <br />lumber, plaster, septic tank drain fields, basements, abandoned utility pipes or conduits, equipments, fences, and <br />retaining walls. <br />These items shall also include the removal of trees and shrubs and other landscape features not designated for <br />preservation, stumps, brush, roots, vegetation, logs, curb and gutter, driveways, street paving, paved parking <br />areas, miscellaneous stone, sidewalks, drainage structures, manholes, catch basins, abandoned railroad tracks, <br />scrap iron. <br />1.03 SITE CONDITION <br />The site is on SR A -1 -A (Collins Avenue), a heavily traveled arterial highway. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />Not included in this section. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 PROTECTION <br />All areas, as shown on the plans, shall be cleared of all structures obstructions as defined above. Those trees, <br />shrubs and other landscape features specifically designated for preservation shall be carefully protected from <br />abuse, marring or damaged during construction operations. Continual parking and servicing of equipment under <br />the drip line or canopy of trees marked for preservation is not permitted. When trees and shrubs are designated <br />for preservation and require pruning, they shall be trimmed as directed by the CONSULTANT. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />Removal <br />Irrigation, Landscape and Backfill shall be removed in a proper sequence for maintenance of traffic and <br />drainage. <br />2. Backfill <br />Holes remaining after removal of all obstructions, objectionable material, tree stumps, tec., shall be <br />backfilled and shall be reestablished to approximately the same as existed prior to removal of the <br />obstruction. <br />END OF SECTION <br />02222 -1 <br />
